List looks to be near identical to last year’s. No new coasters again- Super Cyclone, Jungle Twist, RC48, and Wacky Worm all returning, Mighty Mouse as of now is absent though. Haunted Castle from Gosetto, which was new this year, is returning, possibly best traveling dark ride I’ve been on. And Space Roller and Magnum are both returning- 2 of my all time favorites.

Kinda disappointed. I mean, it's still an epic fair and I'll go at least once... but I miss when it was a more independent Midway and there would be one or two surprises each year. It's been pretty static the last couple of years.

Yeah, I agree. I mean it’s an awesome fair, I agree, but not much new recently. Luckily, Wade brings in a lot of independents (so glad Space Roller and Magnum are always there), but yeah, it was something else when it was all independents. The last few years the Strawberry Festival has been a little more interesting.

I just drove past the fairgrounds on my way into Tampa. The giant Woods wheel is already set up. One of the Cyclone coasters is set up as well and the kmg crazy surf that was at IAAPA is also there (this

Not sure how much I’ll like that Crazy Surf ride, but I’ll definitely give it a try. Who bought it?

South Florida fair ends tomorrow I think, so I guess a lot of other stuff will start to move in soon after.

So I just noticed another ride not part of the original ride list posted here... Coming back from Port of Tampa today, I noticed the SDC Windstorm coaster that was just down in Miami at Santa's Enchanted Forest is now setup at the State Fairgrounds! (Steve Vander Vorste?)

Yep! I’m happy to see that one. It’ll be it’s first time at the state fair as far as I know. Definitely the best of all the coasters they’ve had that I can remember. I like that this windstorm still uses the original t bar restraints. Between the Windstorm, Haunted Castle, Space Roller and Magnum, I’ll be doing a lot of riding this year at the state fair. Can’t wait.

Visited yesterday, had a great time. Several new shows: I saw the XPogo stick show, which is a combination of pogo stick users and gymnasts. Show was almost 45 minutes long. Also saw the new Soar show, a show with free flying birds. Due to it being windy, some of the birds had some challenged flying. Very informative show. Also saw the returning Sea Lion Splash show, which is different every year.

Space Roller was running well (backwards only most cycles though). Magnum cycles were super short, which makes the rides very hit or miss with flipping. Windstorm was running well, very smooth rides. It’s great to see this ride still uses the original train/lap bar design. The new Crazy Surf ride was okay, but it was a one and done for me due to similar motions repeated too much. There was a new walk through called Storybook, it was okay. 2 new or redone/rethemed dark rides- the Haunted, and the Asylum. Haunted was pretty bad, Asylum was a little better but nothing super special. Haunted Castle, which was new last year was back and is definitely through best of the 3.
Fair only had 4 coasters this year- Super Cyclone (Wade’s this year), Windstorm, Mighty Mouse, and Wacky Worm. Well, technically 5, including the Dragon ride that had a 54” max height. Hard to believe just a few years ago there were 8 plus the Dragon one. No new credits for me since I’ve ridden Windstorm at Santa’s Enchanted Forest a few years ago.

Was so there yesterday. I hate That space roller no longer change the program up, had a pretty basic ride on that. And yeah, magnum was terrible this year. My first ride ended without any flips and my second ride got a single flip, at the end.

Midway was noticeably smaller than in years past. No, spur midway near the far back, No second kid midway up front...

It's so weird to say such a massive an impressive midway was also lackluster based on previous years.

The second kid area toward the back wasn’t there last year. Neither was the spur near where Super Cyclone is.

Magnum I rode 5x, with the first 2 alone and having no flips. The last 3 were with another rider and were both better.

Space Roller I did see one cycle where they went in both directions. All 8 times I rode were just backwards. I do wish if they ran just one direction that it’d be just forward. Space Roller have some really good hang time on all the rides I went on though, so I can’t complain too much.

I’m still surprised they replaced a good portion of the ride midway with games in that area, though it wasn’t as extreme this year.

Still a great fair, but I do wish it would go back to being independent. Luckily there are a lot of booked rides anyway even with Wade in charge.

Canobiefan, those are some good photos. The night time shots especially are great.

Have you ever made the drive down to the Miami fair? Thinking of finally heading down there, never been to a NAME event. Would probably be doing the coasters solo, if you have been, do you know how single rider friendly they are?

Miami Dade is an awesome fair. I've been twice. Way back when they still had Doppel Looping and then last year (where they had like 7 coasters)
