Post by acer510Post by skiguy777Post by c***@gmail.comPost by s***@aol.comOf course parks always get something I’m really interested in the year after I visit.
It will be there next year. CP usually opens their rides early in the year, and KI is open in the Spring. That's when I visited for Diamond Back when it opened. They've basically got 8 months to go if 2020, which it probably is. The good news is that B&M are very reliable, and the line will move quickly. Probably won't get to pick a seat, but the line will move fast like it did for Fury325.
You went at a good time. There's so many parks within a 4-5 hour drive, that it's hard to visit all of them as the new rides open. For example, there's Steel Curtain at Kennywood. So now you can go back to visit KI and KW in 2021 and the crowds should be less.
I've missed and entire cycle because of taking care of my parents. But all the rides will still be there and I'll eventually catch up. Plus I'm waiting for the Boeing 737MAX mess to be fixed which should happen later this year or early next.
I thought about this more because I have days to use at work. There's 3 places I want to visit but a park nearby is building a new ride to open in 2020. Plus there's the 737MAX problems that is causing many flights to be cancelled. That would be a bummer to take time off work, get to the airport, only to find out your flight has been cancelled.
CP / KI / KW - Don't want to go now because KI is building that Giga for 2020. That's going to be 3 coasters I need to ride, that being Steel Vengeance, Steel Curtain, and the new one at KI.
SWSA / SDC - Don't want to go now because SWSA is building a GCI woodie. After visiting this park I would fly to Kansas City, and drive down to SDC to ride Time Traveler.
KD / BGW - Don't want to go now because BGW is building a new coaster for 2020. But I also need to ride Twister Timbers at KD.
About the only place I can see going is SFoG for Labor Day weekend because they'll have the Flash sale where you get this year and next for a low price. Then I can use that when I fly into Texas and visit SFFT and SFoT. It's a long drive, but I could rent a car and go without flying.
On your CP / KI / KW trip next year don't forget about HersheyPark building a new B&M (Aren't Pittsburgh and Harrisburg{20 miles from Hershey?} fairly close together ?
Good point. For that area I usually fly into PHL, visit SFNJ, Dorney, HP, and Knoebels. There's hotels to the north east of Philadelphia (to visit SFNJ and Dorney), and hotels in Hershey.
That means there is going to be two B&Ms opening in 2020, but in my case, they would be separate trips. One trip flying into Columbus (CMH) for KI/ KW / CP and then another for what I just mentioned.
One could do all this in one massive trip, but I usually visit 3-4 parks at a time, sometimes with a flight to another city in between. All you have to do is bring up maps.google.com and look at the area. Columbus (CMH) is a central hub. Then there's either Philadelphia, Allentown, or Harrisburg for that section of the map.
I usually return the rental car to the same location and a round trip plane ticket is less, that's why I pick a central spot. Otherwise, one could start in Cincinnati and work across the map visiting Ki / CP / KW / HP / KN / DP / SFNJ.
