Define "regularly"...
I don't make it here nearly as often as I once did (now THERE is an
understatement!) but I do make a point of dropping in from time to time and
catching up.
I really miss r.r-c being the most widely read clearinghouse of online
amusement ride discussion. Now between hundreds of web forums and thousands
of Failbook groups, there is no one place where you can engage with a broad
cross-section of the community. The Failbook groups are probably the worst
because they all look exactly the same and have many of the same people in
them, so if you have a conversation about some topic you can never remember
which group it was and with which small chunk of the population.
I remember Joe Schwartz's justification for voting *against* the creation
of rec.parks.theme...and quite frankly, he was exactly right.
rec.parks.theme didn't really do much damage, but a hundred web sites all
trying to drive unique content certainly did.
