Visited twice this year, once during the second weekend (Friday) and once the fourth weekend (Thursday). Both nights were slow. Arrived during the changeover period the first time. You ca enter the park with a HOS ticket during that time (as early as 5pm actually) and they keep some rides, shops and stores open. I like this much better than how they do it at HHN, where you can’t enter until HHN starts, and if you’re inside the park already, you’re stuck in a holding area (with limited food/drink available and that’s it). Rides open at HOS during this time are the ones that will be open during the actual HOS.

Two new houses this year: Insomnia and Simon’s Slaughterhouse.
Insomnia was awesome. It had a huge queue at HOS start, but I went the last hour of HOS and was a walk on, went through basically alone each time. This house is really good, based on a hospital where they keep you awake and fears that go along with that. This is located near the old Questor/Akbhar building.

Simons Slaughterhouse is in Gwazi Park, with a whole area around it themed to the slaughterhouse as well. This area and house is billed as recommended for 17 and up. It’s an ok house, not really any more gorey than any of the other houses though.

Returning houses are Black Spot (which is still using the Tidal Wave queue and station for the queue!), Death Water Bayou (6th year in a row and still as amazing as ever), Unearthed (with no part through the Gwazi station this year though!), and Motel Hell (no pool scene this year!).

Instead of Crash Test Zombies Bumper
Cars, this year they have Crash Test Clowns. The clowns did an amazing job.

Scare zones were amazing as usual.

Fiends was back once again, second year back in stanleyville theater. Less pop culture references than the past few years, perhaps because there’s less
Pressure for that with no more Bill & Ted at HHN? Still a fun show, this year celebrating Dr Freakenstein’s 666th birthday. I like that this show is back in the original location. This year they have a formal photo op setupmwoth the nurses outside.

The park had some dance party areas outside and very relaxed feel compared to HHN. Scare actors are encouraged to ride rides with guests (in addition to the bumper cars), I saw one riding the courtesy tram.

Ride queues were non existent, I got some amazing rides in the dark on Kumba both nights.

Glad you had a nice time. It's hard for BGT to come back when HHN has the bigger draw.

The RMC conversion of Gwazi should be similar to NTG and Steel Vengeance if they're smart. I've had NTG as my #1 RMC all this time, and the only reason I don't have Steel Vengeance at the top is because I didn't get to ride it yet. Both coaster have the same layout. A triangle bowl with the train weaving through the structure. In the case of NTG, there are tunnels at the end. This is an amazing layout when you think about it verses the usual out and back.

The suits should realize this and go for broke with the conversion. If they go for the 55mph version like they did at Kentucky Kingdom, it will be a good ride but lack the record breaking stats and draw when it comes to media coverage and attendance jump.
