So I guess they're now on social media exchanging pics for donations but still won't let anyone visit. They got a lot of money via donations before being split off into their own organization separate from ACE, so who knows how much of that has gone directly to former and current EC members...or the ACE legal fund for protecting pedos.

Also it really triggers Rowberry if you mention how to museum is a total scam.

Anyway, does anybody believe this place will *ACTUALLY EVER OPEN*?

I've had similar interrogations about the museum. They've had accumulated an incredible collection, but except for the rare ACE event (funny how the two were supposedly split off, yet the twos are joined at the hip for this and their IAAPA booth placements), you can't visit as you noted.

Beside the small exhibit at Dollywood in 2012 and a wall exhibit at IAAPA a few years ago, what concrete things have they done?

It’s a shame people can’t go to enjoy the collection of interesting roller coaster items.

I wonder if the museum being in a location with a lot of theme park tourism, like Orlando, could help this project become a reality and have a built in audience. Or if they were able to team up with the carousel museum in Connecticut...

Short answer: No.

Long answer: They've had the opportunity for years now to try and do something with their materials. They put together something that looked like it could travel to various museums at the Dollywood con which was 8 years ago now. Did they wind up marketing it as a traveling exhibit? Did they have negotiations for bringing it in? Did they have an agent working for them? I have no clue. There's no minutes to meetings or anything related to the operations to make them transparent.

There's no point in discussing ancient history like the proposed space at KI that was turned down because that was so long ago it practically doesn't matter. As a standalone museum it will draw nobody regardless of where it is. You could put it in Times Square; unless at the end of the journey you get the cure for COVID, ain't no one except a very small group of nerds going to stare at old coaster wheels. It has to be in an amusement complex; period, end of story. Been that way since Day 1. They're opting for the location they've got because Larson is giving them some free help and (I assume at the behest of Tim Baldwin) ACE's state of residence relocated out of Ohio to Texas a few years back.

Does anyone know if ACE pays for registration as a nonprofit to legally fundraise outside of the state of incorporation? Most nonprofits list the registration numbers on their site.

No, I don't.

Shame, really.
