What is everyone planning this summer?
We are tentatively planning.

- Already visited Kings Dominion a few weeks ago
- We visited Carowinds and Family Kindgom 2 weeks ago too. Copperhead Strike was fun, solid coaster. Fury and Intimidator were down due to wind.
- Missed Knoebels opening last week.
- Will hit SFA in the next month or so, at least to get our dining passes straigtened out, daughter's is not registered yet but bought it last fall.
- Two week will do ACE Preservation Conference at Kentucky Kindgom and Camden Park. Looking forward to new coasters at KK. Also will probably do quick side trip to Kings Island since we have KD platinum passes.
- Was going to Coastermania, but now going to skip. Holiday World was an option but now going to skip also to conentrate on...
- Big summer trip to CA for ACE Convention! Plus we might drive now, and save our airline ticket credit for Fall trip to FL

ACE Convention trip
- Side trips to SFSL, four counners memorial, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas... on way back Frontier City and Worlds of Fun.
- USH VIP experience
- WB Tour
- Disney, both parks for 2.5 days
- ACE Con parks of SFMM and Knott's for 5 days total
- Santa Monica Pier
- We're skipping San Diego this time and other parks in SoCal. Might do Adventure City since it is right near Knott's

Kids are really looking forward to CA! Will be exciting, of course possible drive across US will be daunting, time consuming, but also fun for all the new scenary and a few new places! I've not been out West really at all, except for TX, Vegas, and CA before.

I'm sure we'll do Busch Williamsburg once this year too.

Later in summer, maybe hit a park or two on the Northeast. Probably Dollywood in the Fall, and Orlando or HHN in September. Will hit Hollywood Studios in FL too, maybe Busch. Not sure yet.

Looks like a good year for us.

Aside from usual visits to local central Florida parks and fairs (looking forward to new coasters at Busch and Islands)-

Visited Zoo Miami for the first time earlier this year.

Visiting Kentucky Kingdom and Kings Island this summer (haven’t been since Storm Chaser, Kentucky Flyer and Mystic Timbers).

Likely visits to Adventureland and Coney Island, maybe another park or two in the area this summer. Was hoping for the mall next to the Meadowlands to open this summer on my annual visit to the area, but looks like that will have to wait for next year.

Tentative visit to California this fall for a movie fan related event visit, if it happens, Knott’s Scary Farm will probably be a side trip.

With a new credit at the Florida Strawberry Festival in February, I’m now up to 493. With the two central Florida coasters opening up (Tigris and the Harry Potter one), and the 3 I’ll be getting at Kentucky Kingdom and Kings Island, it puts me at a near definite 498... was hoping to get to 500 this year, depends what I get while in New York area (if any) and if the California trip happens (I still need the two most recent Knott’s ones)...

My coaster count grows very slowly now, unless I visit somehwere I haven't been. I got 2 new credits this year already, one for a spnning coaster at Funland Fredericksburg and Copperhead Strike at Carowinds. I'm below 750, I think around 738 or so. I will reach 750 this year as the big trip out west will net me 2 new parks and a bunch of new coasters. I have yet to hit a lot of parks in the midwest to rocky mountains. I do have a lot of overseas credits, but have no plans to go overseas again soon. I've started skipping certain coasters, and occasionlly I'm now too big to fit on one! I would have at least 7 or 8 more of ones I did't ride or can't fit on.

My count has also grown very slowly. My 400 was back in 2010! I’ve skipped certain coasters voluntarily at times as well in recent times. Last year I only got 4 credits and in 2012, I got zero new credits.

Planning on heading to HoliWood Nights at Holiday World in a few weeks. With the event being themed after Airplane! I figured I simply had to fly my airplane to an Airplane! themed event!

Other than that my only other plans for an organized event is the annual Lone Star Coasterthon since it's just down the road and an easy trip. I may hit up SFMM later this summer while I am in LA for a conference, but it depends on the conference schedule.

The event is themed to Airplane ths movie? That’s amazing. I almost want to rejoin an enthusiast group just to go to it.

No, it's just the flier. They always have a really cool themed flier, but the event has never been themed.

I wouldn't say that. I mean, it's not like they redecorate the coasters or
anything, but they do try to work the event theme in almost any way they
can. But the theme cues are often somewhat subtle. If you attend, pay close
attention to things like...

o The snacks (I can't spell French) served in the waterpark on Friday night
o The music played over the park PA during ERT
o Any printed materials handed out during the event

Given the nature of this year's theme, they may find additional
opportunities to add movie tie-ins to the event.

Paula will be disappointed if I don't sneak in just
before the deadline. )

What is everyone planning this summer?
The stuff I have booked is:

-New England trip to visit family. Probably doing SFNE and Canobie as part of this, maybe some light credit whoring around that. Maybe.
-Cedar Point (anywhere between 3-5 visits)
-Denver (Lakeside/Elitch/Mile High Flea/maybe a carnival)
-Tokyo (been putting that off forever)
-Efteling for Thanksgiving

I'll do all the reasonable to drive to new stuff too at some stage, but I haven't gotten too in depth with that yet as to book it.

It’s a local park to me, but I decided to brave the long line at Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure yesterday at Islands Of Adventure. I loved it. My first time ever going to a park on opening day of a major attraction.

Uh, outside of the local Florida stuffs... I've visited Castles & Coasters (2), Wildlife World (1), Fun Spot Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia, Dollywood (1), The Island (1), (Rocky Top Mountain Coaster), Malibu Jack's (1), Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland (2), Darien Lake (2), and Seabreeze (1)...so far this year.

Since Steel Curtain failed to open I swapped out Kennywood with a visit to the Pittsburgh Zoo on my way from CP to Wonderland... and today I was gonna go to SFNE or Canobie but since it rained all day I just hung out in Boston.

While I’m sure the Pittsburgh Zoo is fun, I wouldn’t pass up a possible visit to Kennywood anytime. My all time favorite park. Unfortunately, only been there 5 visits, I think (‘96, ‘99, ‘01, ‘10, 14). Next year it’s an almost definite now with Steel Curtain, though.
