It's a nightmare, and Google Groups doesn't let you reclaim the space making r-rc impossible to read. I think it might be time for me to step away.

I think it is. As I type this the first six pages on r.r-c, as viewed through Google Groups, are 100% spam.

I'm giving up. I've just taken this page out of my daily bookmarks.

Hope to see you all on a coaster somewhere.

using Eternal-september.org as the newsgroup server. (It's free, btw)

using Eternal-september.org as the newsgroup server. (It's free, btw)

I use google groups for rrc as well (and have been since aol stopped supporting newsgroups over a decade ago). I keep reporting each of the spam as spam, the lines are still there but said the thread is hidden. I guess yours is filtering it out.

What's worse is that reporting only seems to hide it on the machine you're using. I flip between two computers, and the abusive topics are only hidden on one of them.

What's probably happening is that when someone reports the spam on Google,
Google might be sending a cancel message that is causing e-s to drop the
offending message.

Bit of spam (like 5 articles) a few days ago but given what few remain

Plus the fact that I posted a bunch of on topic subjects the same day I posted this thread, and this is the only one that got any responses other than one in the Cedar Fair/Six Flags merger topic.

Sort-of same here. I don't stop in daily anymore, but in rtin, also from
eternal-september, there were something like four spam threads at the
bottom of the list; I just (K)illed them all and went about my business.
