Carnival Cruise Ships announced the first ever cruise ship roller coaster called “Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster”, which will debut on the new for 2020 ship Mardi Gras. It’s apparently designed by Maurer-Sohne and will be 800 feet long. It’s being called an electric roller coaster, so it sounds debatable whtehe it’s powered or not, at least as of now... the cars will feature 2 riders in tandem, riding similar to the motorbike coasters.

Looking at the concept art there's really no debate. It's powered, period. The station is at basically the highest point, although there really isn't much actual slope to it at all. It's basically the old Straosphere High Roller on a ship.

The High Roller had a lift hill. This doesn't.

Thinking about it more, I’m guessing without a major downward slope, it’d be pretty hard to create a gravity driven coaster on a ship since you’d have to account for rocking of the ship to prevent valleying. And the height limits for bridge clearances probably can’t be too high on a ship. Maybe someday we’ll see a coaster with some gravity portions like Fire in the Hole or Gringotts on a ship.
